The Day Draweth Near

Chanced across this on an unoccupied desk in the office. The Boss has scribbled on a pad which lies on the desk - it reads : "Every day it's getting closer going faster than a RoRo"

If I hear or see the words "Helter Skelter" in here, I'm going to the job centre, k?

  1. Just what is a roro? A relative to the dodo bird?

  2. I love photographic evidence... it probably helps you feel sane... :D

  3. @ Strangel - "RoRo" is an abbreviation for a method of shipping but as to the relevance of that in this context I sadly cannot tell you anything more.

@ Greg - yes, just so! In fact this photograph is too crappy by half so I shall now update it with a better one. My paw was obviously shaking too much with the fear.

  4. Ok, so "it" is coming faster than a method of shipping? Damn my Norwegian logic, cause I don't see the logic there:P Why don't you gather photographic evidence/ tape the conversations and get her fired?

  5. @Strangel if he does that then where would the entertainment be for us hahahaha, sorry silent koala, but your stories keep me going :)

  7. I think you're blog is hilarious. Only I feel guilt laughing at your boss.

Do you think she has early onset dementia or something similar. I can't work out how she's managed to spend so long in the same job if she was always like this?

  8. please don't go to the job centre - look at all the people who depend on you to get them through the day!

  9. Just make sure she doesn't have any weapons concealed about the office. Oh wait hang on, I reckon if anyone's gonna 'go postal' in there, it would more likely be you :P

And yayyy I can finally comment!

  10. RoRo= Rick Rolled?

Should I expect a future post to inform us of the inevitable moment when you enter your workplace, greeted by the boss in sunnies, trenchcoat and funny hat reminding you that she's "never gonna get you gone"?

  11. whoa...that's some serious shit. is she a freemason or something?

  12. baroquejen nailed it; it at least starts out as lyrics from the song "Everyday" by Buddy Holly. Normally that phrase ends with "roller coaster", but I guess she stuck "RoRo" in to make it more job-applicable.

  14. RoRo = Roll on Roll off, I think (seem to remember this back in school..maybe Geography. To do with ferries and rolling on and off the cargo without using cranes or something).

Anyway, nice to see some photographic evidence...at least we know you're not making this insane behaviour up! ;)

Now we just need a handwriting expert to confirm that she's medically insane

  15. I just read your blog for the first time and... well, I don't know what to think, ha ha.

Try finding another job, my friend. It will be good for you.

    Best of luck.

  16. I hope this is another case of mmisunderstood lyrics, and she really thinks that Buddy Holly sings "RoRo" rather than "rollercoaster."

  29. Ah, folks. I'm touched, and thank you, and I'm sorry for the delay. I'd say "I'll try harder" or something but it would just be a lie, so instead I'll tell you - it's heartening (and actually quite incredibly surprising) that there are so many of you on here reading these Tales From The Transport Twilight Zone - thank you all very much for being around. :D

    furry hugs!
